THE REGISTER
What a recognised sponsor actually is
A recognised sponsor is a company the IND has approved to bring people from outside the EU to the Netherlands. Only these companies can file a highly skilled migrant application or an EU Blue Card application for you.
Check the legal entity on your contract rather than the brand name. Groups often have several entities and only one of them is on the register.

NOT ON THE REGISTER?
There is usually another route
"Not recognized" is not the end of the conversation. During your orientation year your employer does not need to be a recognised sponsor, and an EU Blue Card or an employer of record can work where the sponsor route cannot.
BlueStone handles the permit application, Dutch payroll and the 30% ruling for both employees and companies.

GOOD TO KNOW
Frequently asked
Where does this data come from?
The IND public register of recognised sponsors. The IND publishes a new version each month and we follow it, so the page always shows the latest published list with its date.
I can’t find my employer
Search the KvK number from your contract. Registered legal names often differ from the trade name you know, and only the registered entity appears on the IND register.
Does “not recognized” mean I cannot work there?
No. It means the company cannot use the recognised sponsor route for your permit. Other routes may still apply, such as the EU Blue Card, an orientation year or an employer of record.
Is this tool free?
Yes, and no account is needed. It is built and maintained by BlueStone as part of the BlueStone app.
